Description
Why use an air dryer?
Air dryer is an important equipment in the compressed air system. It helps to remove water vapor and impurities from compressed air, preventing the formation of water in the system. The use of air dryers protects equipment and tools from damage caused by steam, increases system efficiency and ensures product quality. Most air dryers have a neat design and are easy to install.
Based on common features, divides air dryers into the following categories:
- Refrigerated air dryer
- Desiccant air dryer
Most industrial machines often have a very complex structure. For air dryers, too, the machine is composed of many different basic parts such as:
- Refrigeration system: Consists of an air compressor, chiller and radiator.
- Absorption system: Sometimes used in regular air dryers. This system includes a desiccant, such as silica gel or zeolite, to absorb water vapor from the compressed air.
- Refrigerator: This is the main component in a refrigerated air dryer. Compressed air passes through a cooler, where the temperature of the gas is reduced to condense the water vapor present in the gas.
- Absorption system: Desiccant air dryers usually include an absorption system to remove water vapor.
- Control and protection system: Air dryers are usually equipped with a control system to regulate the cooling or absorption process, ensuring the machine’s performance and reliability. In addition, the air dryer has protective devices such as safety valve and pressure sensor to ensure safe and stable operation.
- Water treatment and removal system: Air dryers are usually equipped with water treatment and removal systems to separate and remove condensate generated during air drying. The system includes a water separator, a drain valve and a filter to remove impurities and essential oils from the water.
Currently, air dryers are widely used in production as well as in life to optimize benefits for businesses
- Application of air dryer in agriculture: Agricultural products are quickly dried, drying most of the products such as: Rice, corn, peanuts, potatoes,….
- Applications in the manufacturing industry: Air dryers are used to dry compressed air during production and machine operation, protecting equipment and tools from the effects of steam. Industries such as automotive, electronics, industrial machinery, and home product manufacturing all use air dryers to ensure product quality and performance.
- Food and Beverage Industry: In the food and beverage industry, air dryers are used to dry compressed air used in the production, packaging and handling of food.
- Medical and pharmaceutical industry: In the medical and pharmaceutical industry, air dryers play an important role in drying compressed air and raw materials in the production of drugs, pharmaceuticals and other medical products.
- Petroleum and Chemical Industry: In the petroleum and chemical industry, air dryers are used to dry and remove water vapor from compressed air and other gas streams during production, transportation, and storage.
